Dear Readers,
My mother recently phoned me while I was away at university with this genius idea she had: my sister and I should start a blog about professional female athletes and what it is like to be a woman in the world of sports. So, naturally I said "yeah mom, great idea. I'll get to that right after I take my five final exams and write two 10-page papers".
I guess that time has come, I am on summer break and the 2016 Summer Olympics are about to start. Since the 2015 World Cup, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the United States Women's National Soccer Team and the colossal wage gap they have been faced with. So, this blog is dedicated to women in sports and trying to make that world a better one for future generations.

After being my mother introduced the idea of writing a blog about women in sports, especially soccer, Yasmin and I have finally decided to take up that opportunity. After the US Women's Soccer Team won the 2015 Women's World Cup, female athletes have dominated headlines (Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Carli Lloyd, etc.) so it seemed fitting to (attempt to) write articles about these deserving and underappreciated women.
